Riveiro was appointed Pirates coach just before the start of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season, with the Spaniard arriving in the country as an unknown coach who had never coached on the continent before.
He has guided the Buccaneers to the MTN8 semi-finals, and the club is currently second in the league standings.
“We’re in a good place; we’re really enjoying the coach’s tactics, and he’s a hard worker as well.” We are grateful to have a coach who is a father figure to us; his influence extends beyond football. We are grateful to have someone like him as a coach, and I believe it will greatly benefit us in terms of individual development. And I believe we’re on the right track,” Pule said.
While Pule is pleased with how Riveiro has managed to steer the Pirates ship thus far, the winger also mentioned Tapelo Xoki and Nkosinathi Sibisi, who have both joined the club and performed admirably in the Bucs defense.
“They have played at the highest level for many years and have served as captains at previous clubs (Xoki AmaZulu FC and Sibisi)” (Golden Arrows). As a captain and leader, I believe you are capable of adapting to any situation that may arise. and it is this that has enabled them to adapt,” he added.
