Ranga Chivaviro isn’t quite ready to start for the DStv Premiership club, according to Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki.
Prior to the start of the new season, Amakhosi acquired the 30-year-old former Marumo Gallants striker despite competition from Richards Bay and Orlando Pirates.
However, Chivaviro has only made a few substitute appearances for Ntseki’s team in their two league games and MTN8 quarterfinal victory over Cape Town City.
The Chiefs manager explained that until the former All-Stars frontman is ready, he will only use him sparingly.
“I think last week when I was addressing the media, I said that we are still managing Ranga,” Ntseki said in the Citizen after defeating City

.He was brought in as a result of their defenders’ continued deep positioning. He can hold the ball and flick the balls, and he is very physically active. And we wanted the team to arrive in Cape Town with new energy. In terms of our recovery and freshness, that was the plan.
That was the strategy. We focused on speed and quality in the first half in an effort to get past the defense. We had to bring in Ranga because he was only there to solidify and stabilize the defense.
