Kaizer Chiefs are on the verge of securing the services of Bafana Bafana midfielder Thabo Cele, with the player’s current club, Fakel Voronezh, announced the termination of his contract. This development has brought the transfer closer to fruition, and the Amakhosi faithful are eagerly awaiting the official announcement of Cele’s signing.
As first reported by journalist Lotshiwe Ntuli, Kaizer Chiefs had been pursuing Cele’s signature, and the latest development has confirmed the club’s interest in the midfielder. Fakel Voronezh confirmed the termination of Cele’s contract in a statement, citing “serious health problems in the family” as the reason.
The agreement between Cele and the club stipulates that the midfielder will only be able to play for teams based in South Africa until the end of his current contract. This clause has effectively paved the way for Cele’s to join Kaizer Chiefs, the club that showed interest to get his service since last year.
Currently, Cele is in his hometown of Durban, and it is expected that he will join his Kaizer Chiefs in the coming days. The addition of Cele would be a significant boost to Kaizer Chiefs’ midfield, which has been lacking depth and creativity this season.
Cele’s experience and skillset would be a valuable asset to the Amakhosi midfield. The 28-year-old midfielder has represented Bafana Bafana on several occasions and has also played for several clubs in abroad. His vision, passing range, and work rate would complement Kaizer Chiefs’ existing midfielders, and his signing would be a major coup for the club.
Kaizer Chiefs have been struggling to find consistency in their performances this season, and the addition of Cele could be the catalyst for a turnaround. The club’s coach, Nabi Nasreddine, has been under pressure to deliver results, and the signing of Cele would be a statement of intent from the club.
As the transfer window enters its final stages, Kaizer Chiefs’ capture of Thabo Cele would be a major coup for the club. The midfielder’s experience, skillset, and passion for the club make him an ideal signing for the Amakhosi, and he will be expected to have a significant impact on the team’s performances in the second half of the season.
