Kaizer Chiefs have made a significant statement of intent with the announcement of three new signings: Thabo Cele, Tashreeq Morris, and Glody Makabi Lilepo.
Thabo Cele, a free agent midfielder, joins the Amakhosi after being released by Russian club Fakel Voronezh. Cele, who hails from KZN Academy, has amassed over 150 appearances for clubs in three different countries since leaving South Africa in 2016. He has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs.
“It’s been a long time coming for Thabo, and we are both glad that he’s finally here,” said Kaizer Junior.
In another move, Kaizer Chiefs have secured the services of Tashreeq Morris from SuperSport United in a straight swap deal that sees Christian Saile move in the opposite direction. Morris has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Amakhosi.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs have also announced the signing of DR Congo forward Glody Makabi Lilepo from Valenciennes CF. The winger joins the club in a deal reportedly worth €500K (R9.7M).
These signings are expected to bolster Kaizer Chiefs’ squad as they push for success in the second half of the season.
