Arthur Zwane, head coach of Kaizer Chiefs, has revealed why he benched captain Itumeleng Khune and defender Zitha Kwinika in their DStv Premiership 2-0 win over Royal AM on Sunday.
Amakhosi took all three points against Thwihli Thwahla at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium thanks to goals from Sifiso Hlanti and Ashley Du Preez.
Zwane chose to start with goalie Brandon Petersen and center-back Siyabonga Ngezana, both of whom performed admirably on the day.
Khune has played 11 games for the Glamour Boys in all competitions this season, conceding 10 goals and keeping two clean sheets.
Kwinika, on the other hand, has appeared in 19 games for the Soweto giants and scored once.
