Orlando Pirates may be on a high at the moment, but naturally not all of the players in the squad will feel that.
While the players that have been involved will feel the moment the club is currently enjoying, those in the wilderness won’t be feeling too important at Pirates.
MAKHUBELA LOOKING FOR EXIT
One of those players is attacking midfielder Ntsako Makhubela. The 28-year-old might have only joined Pirates last season, but it is believed that he is already looking for a way out of the club. Ironically, he has a long lasting affinity to the club, having come up from the academy and even captaining their former feeder team called Yebo Yes FC.
From the Makhubela had to leave his beloved Pirates in order to try and forge a senior professional career for himself. He quickly did that in the colours of Golden Arrows, becoming a key component of their side for a numerous seasons. It wasn’t too long before the player found himself in demand, with all of the Buccaneers, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns all thought to have been interested in his services.
“His (Makhubela) morale is way too low, things are just not going well for him at Pirates. This is not something that he anticipated because he thought he was going to be one of the key players in the squad. But now everything is just falling apart for him and it doesn’t seem there will be any changes for him that is why he now wants to go back to Arrows,” said the source.
HOPING TO RETURN TO ARROWS
The source also added that Makhubela was disappointed that Pirates didn’t grant him a temporary move back to Arrows.
“He hoped that the club would send him on loan in the recent transfer window, but it was not the case. I feel very bad for him because he is a quality player. He started well at Pirates, but now things are very bad for him. He is not even making the bench, that’s how terrible it is for him.”
With the January transfer window not too far away Makhubela may still get his wish of leaving Pirates and it remains to be seen if it will be on loan or on a permanent deal.
