Kaizer chiefs are actively pursuing Stellenbosch FC’s star midfielder, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, affirming their interest in the player.
Ntseki assumed the coaching role for Chiefs this season and is keen on bolstering the team’s roster.
He has already overseen the acquisition of eight new players: Edson Castillo, Given Msimango, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Jasond González, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Pule Mmodi, Tebogo Potsane, and Ranga Chivaviro.
Castillo has emerged as a pivotal player, with Msimango and Ditlhokwe strengthening the defense. Mmodi has notably contributed three goals, while Potsane and Mdantsane are finding their footing within the team.
Despite these additions, Ntseki expressed a desire to further fortify the squad before the transfer window closes on September 22, 2023.
Notably, Ntseki highlighted Mthethwa as a significant target, emphasizing the player’s quality and suitability for Chiefs. The club has reportedly made an official bid for the midfielder, who has been a standout performer for Stellenbosch FC.
Mthethwa’s contract has less than a year remaining with Stellenbosch FC. He will consider their options, likely inclined to extend given his exceptional performances.

Mthethwa himself has expressed a readiness to embrace a new challenge in his career. He is showing openness to relocating anywhere in the country to pursue opportunities that support his family.
If Mthethwa were to join Chiefs, it could potentially reposition Castillo into a more advanced role. This alteration would impact the midfield dynamics for Chiefs, as they are keen on diversifying their midfield profile under Ntseki’s guidance.
