Kaizer Chiefs is on the verge of signing Omega Mdaka to a lucrative three-year contract, making him the latest addition to the Amakhosi first team.
The move comes as the Amakhosi management recognizes the pressing need for an experienced left-back.
Chiefs rely primarily on Sifiso Hlanti and Happy Mashiane, although Edmilson Dove can deputize in that position if necessary. However, the limited depth in this crucial position has prompted the management’s pursuit of Mdaka.
Insiders report that negotiations have advanced to an approximately 90% finalized deal.
This acquisition casts doubt on Mashiane’s future with the club, as he has not featured in the plans of Molefi Ntseki.

With Dove’s return and the impending arrival of Mdaka, the need for an additional left-back has become apparent.
Consequently, it is speculated that Mashiane may be loaned out or released. The former option seems more likely at this juncture.
As Kaizer Chiefs near the completion of Mdaka’s deal, anticipation mounts regarding how this promising young left-back will fare in the senior ranks, bringing renewed depth and talent to the Amakhosi squad.
