Kaizer Chiefs might need to play a little dirty in the transfer market if they want to cut the considerable gap to Sundowns in the PSL.
Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly ready to make a big play and land one of Sundowns’ big targets. Can they pull it off?
KAIZER CHIEFS KEEN ON SOME MAYO
With Mamelodi Sundowns linked with a move for Mayo, it’s difficult to see him starting regularly with Cassius Mailula and recent PSL centurion Peter Shalulile at the club.
Sure, the money would be good, but footballers want to play football. It would also be a massive statement should they deprive Sundowns of one their priority targets in the market.
RED-HOT PSL STRIKERS DON’T COME CHEAP
Mayo has 10 goals in 25 league outings this season and this purple patch in front of goal has seen links to Chiefs resurface. If the Glamour Boys also make a move for Mayo’s teammate at Cape Town City, Mduduzi Mdantsane, there’s guaranteed chemistry right there.
It would just make so much sense. According to the Soccer Laduma report, as shared by @RealTshmedi via Twitter, Chiefs will have to break the bank after Mayo’s recent contract extension with trendy Mother City side Cape Town City.
If Chiefs were to sign Mayo, would they become PSL title contenders for next season? The 24-year-old would certainly raise their level immediately.
