Kaizer Chiefs have finally issued an update on striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana following reports that he is sidelined with injury.
Chiefs had reported a ‘clean bill of health’ ahead of Wednesday’s game against TS Galaxy, but star striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana was not able to form part of the matchday squad.
Earlier this week, reports emerged to suggest that Chiefs has suffered a major injury blow at the worst possible time as they also prepare for the second leg of the MTN8 semi-finals against AmaZulu this weekend. According to SABC Sport, star striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is said have picked up an injury that will keep him out of action for the next four weeks.
In information released on Wednesday ahead of the crucial clash against TS Galaxy, coach Arthur Zwane made no mention of an injury to Bimenyimana, but he has now acknowledged there is a “challenge” they are assessing.
“We will get the doctor’s report tomorrow (Friday) because we have an off day today,” Zwane told the media on Thursday. “I don’t know how long he will be out for. What I know is that he has a little challenge here and there but we are still waiting for the doctor’s report.
