Kaizer Chiefs are already believed to have signed six players ahead of the next season, but are still targeting more!
Having already bolstered their attack with three of the six signings, Chiefs are thought to already be eyeing a fourth.
Having unveiled their new Kappa tracksuits last week, Chiefs are believed to be edging ever so closer to announcing their new players too. The new faces that will be wearing the yet to be unveiled new Chiefs Kappa kit, are set to be the likes of SuperSport United centre back Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, while also being thought to have signed Mduduzi Mdantsane and Given Msimango. In the last two weeks or so, they have also been thought to have added the likes of Venezuelan international midfielder Edson Castillo, who is believed to be ready to join the club and boost their midfield ranks at the end of this month, when his contract with his current team expires.
But that is not all, as on last week Wednesday it was also reported that Chiefs had beaten their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates to the signatures of Golden Arrows winger Pule Mmodi and Marumo Gallants striker Ranga Chivaviro. Furthermore, both players made some very big decisions to ensure that they ended up at Naturena rather than Mayfair with Mmodi firing his agent who was pushing him to Pirates, while Chivaviro stood up for himself against Gallants chairman Abram Sello, who had originally sold him to the Buccaneers.
Now with those signings already said to be wrapped up, according to Soccer-Laduma Chiefs are now looking at Sanele Barns from their DStv Premiership rivals.
CHIEFS INTERESTED IN BARNS
“They haven’t hidden their liking for Barns. They have made it clear that they would want to have him, They tried when he was at AmaTuks but he went to Richards Bay and now they want him again. The thing is there are other players which both teams want from each other and that would affect this move. But he is a separate player and they seem to be dealing with it separately as well. They said they don’t have a winger like him and that’s why they would want to bring him in,” a source told the above mentioned publication.
Barns is a player that can play anywhere on the left side, much like Happy Mashiane. Now with rumours that Chiefs could offload both Mashiane and Sifiso Hlanti on the left, rumours of this possible deal seem to make sense. It remains to be seen if it will come to fruition though.
