Kaizer Chiefs are currently considering a free agent as a potential backup striker for the upcoming PSL season.
Kaizer Chiefs are intensifying their search for a striker ahead of the new PSL season, with growing speculation that they are targeting Dino Ndlovu, a former Bafana Bafana forward. Ndlovu recently became a free agent after parting ways with Turkish club Sakaryaspor, and his experience could be invaluable to Chiefs. Known for his physicality and goal-scoring prowess, Ndlovu could fill a key role in strengthening Chiefs’ attacking options, which have been a priority for coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Dino Ndlovu: Potential backup option for Amakhosi
Sources reveal that Kaizer Chiefs have inquired about 34-year-old Dino Ndlovu. Currently, there is no formal offer on the table, as the club remains focused on securing their primary targets first. If these efforts fall short, Ndlovu may emerge as a valuable backup option. “They haven’t given up on signing a striker before the close of the current transfer window and even if they can’t sign their priority targets then they are looking at other strikers and Dino Ndlovu is one of them,” a key source shared.
The same source highlighted Ndlovu’s experience and free-agent status as key factors. “The main reason they are inquiring about him is that he has the required experience and also he is a free agent, which means negotiations would be much quicker and better.”
Kaizer Chiefs’ striker dilemma: Nguse or Ndlovu?
Another source disclosed that if the club cannot secure their primary targets, such as Fiston Mayele, they will consider either Golden Arrows’ Lungelo Nguse or Ndlovu. “They are looking at finalising the squad for the new season before September 30. The coach has requested at least one striker and a winger, with 25 players in the squad,” the source explained. The clock is ticking as the club works tirelessly to finalise their squad.
