Kaizer Chiefs’ Head Coach Arthur Zwane Expresses Concern Over Team’s Defensive Performance as His Biggest Worry
Kaizer Chiefs’ Coach Arthur Zwane Shares Concern Over Team’s Form After 1-0 Loss to Sekhukhune United, Threatening CAF Champions League Qualification.
Following their 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United on Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach, Arthur Zwane, has disclosed his major concern. Babina Noko has managed to win twice against Amakhosi this season, putting their CAF Champions League qualification prospects in danger of diminishing.
At present, the Glamour Boys occupy the fourth spot on the league table, having earned 41 points from 26 games. It is crucial for Chiefs to win all four of their remaining matches if they intend to surpass SuperSport United and their arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates, for the DStv Premiership’s second position finish.

Zwane’s concern is that his team has been unable to keep a clean sheet, leaving them under pressure for most of the game. The last time Chiefs managed to keep a clean sheet was in March 2023 against Richards Bay, which ended with a 1-0 victory for Zwane’s team.
“It’s a worrying issue,” said Zwane during a media briefing in Polokwane. “We keep conceding, and I thought we had it under control. Unfortunately, the ball hit ‘Siya’ [Siyabonga Ngezana] and fell to Sekhukhune’s path, and they converted. The guys had a good game, but we didn’t create enough goal-scoring opportunities.”
When asked about the Player of the Season, Zwane chose not to reveal his thoughts.
“Look, there are many players who did well, and it’s difficult to single out one,” he added.
“So, until the end of the season, then that will give us a clear sign of who is the best player of the season.”
