Despite Stephane Aziz Ki recently signing a new deal with Yanga SC, Kaizer Chiefs are undeterred and are prepared to make a compelling offer to both the club and the player to secure his services.
Chiefs’ management is keen to strengthen their midfield options and believes that Aziz Ki’s skills and experience would be a significant asset to the team.
So far, Chiefs have seen just one of those signings integrated with the team on pre-season tour in Turkey.
CHIEFS YET TO SIGN AN ATTACKER THIS WINDOW
That signing being that of former Orlando Pirates player Bongani Sam. The left-back joins Chiefs directly from their Soweto rivals although he has not played for them in two years. He had spent the last season and a half at another Soweto giant in Moroka Swallows. He was a surprise signing and would’ve been hoping to get himself into the left-back position vacated by Sifiso Hlanti.
But after suffering what seems like a serious injury, Sam will have that ambition paused for now. The person who will now be hoping to take that spot is another new signing in Rushwin Dortley. The young left sided defender is at home both at centre-back and left-back and could find a vacancy. Chiefs, however, are yet to sign an attacking player.
Chiefs are ready to attempt and audacious bid for Pirates target Stephane Aziz Ki!
COULD AZIZ KI BE THE ONE?
“Coach Nabi had told management that he wants some experienced players mainly in the attacking areas. The first choice for him at the moment is Aziz Ki. He knows him and he believes in him. You know Chiefs also have inquired about the player before he had renewed his contract with Young Africans.
Now that the coach has expressed the desire to have him on board it’s all up to the Sporting Director and the board to do all in their power to bring him in. They haven’t given up on him,” said a source to the same publication.
With Aziz Ki recently renewing his deal at Yanga, it will be a very hard deal for Chiefs to do. But, the good relations between the two clubs could see a deal struck. Even with that, however, the player has already said he has unfinished business with Wananchi. Amakhosi fans, would the Burkina Faso international turn you in to title contenders?
