Kaizer Chiefs appears to have escalated their pursuit of a talented winger from Richards Bay. The Siya crew has gathered exclusive information suggesting that the Amakhosi have not only expressed interest in Sanele Barns but have also initiated official contact with the Natal Rich Boyz.
Soccer Laduma had initially reported on Kaizer Chiefs’ interest in the promising winger, and our latest sources now reveal that talks between the two clubs are believed to be in progress, involving all relevant parties in the negotiation process.
The Siya source emphasized the shift in dynamics, stating, “You see the difference now is that Chiefs have actually made contact with Richards Bay. At first, it was just interest from them. So, now that they have made it official, then maybe something will happen. Let’s wait for the next transfer window in January and see what unfolds. But yeah, the two teams are in talks concerning Sanele Barns.”

Adding an intriguing layer to the potential deal, a second Siya source suggested that Richards Bay might be eyeing a player from Kaizer Chiefs in exchange for Sanele Barns. The source revealed, “Even at first when Chiefs were interested in him, Richards Bay inquired about Sabelo Radebe and then Chiefs striker Caleb Bimenyimana. So, now I am not sure which players they are interested in to exchange for Sanele.”
“Let’s wait for the talks to be concluded, and that’s when we can hear and know which Chiefs player would be involved in the exchange in this deal,” the source informed Soccer Laduma. Despite reaching out to both clubs for comment, no response was received at the time of preparing this story, adding an air of anticipation to the unfolding transfer saga. Stay tuned for further updates as the January transfer window approaches.
