Kaizer Chiefs have announced they will face Qatar’s Al Shahaniya SC during their pre-season camp in Turkey.
Amakhosi have been in Turkey for two weeks and are being put through their paces by new head coach Nasreddine Nabi and his technical team.
Vilakazi On Chiefs’ Pre-season In Turkey
While Chiefs have been relatively quiet regarding their friendly matches, they did play two unnamed opponents so far. On Thursday, they announced they will face newly promoted Qatar Stars League side Al Shahaniya SC on 20 July.
“With the team continuing with their pre-season camp and preparations in Turkey, Amakhosi will play their third practice/friendly match against Qatar’s Al Shahaniya SC in Istanbul on Saturday, 20 July,” the club stated.

“Al Shahaniya gained promotion to the Qatar Stars League (QSL) after they were crowned champions at the end of the previous season.”
This announcement comes as Chiefs aim to fine-tune their strategies and build team chemistry under the guidance of Nabi. The friendly against Al Shahaniya SC is expected to be a valuable test for the squad, offering them a chance to measure their progress against an international opponent.
Chiefs are set to return to South Africa next week and will face Tanzanian champions Young Africans in the inaugural Toyota Cup on 28 July. The match against Young Africans will be a significant event, marking the first edition of the Toyota Cup and providing an exciting challenge for the team as they continue their preparations for the upcoming season.
