Arthur Zwane gives Itumeleng Khune injury update

Kaizer Chiefs Goalkeeper Khune missed the match against TS Galaxy on Wednesday, so Arthur Zwane provided an update on his condition.

Itumeleng Khune was replaced just before the game against TS Galaxy on Wednesday night, and Arthur Zwane has provided an update on the veteran goalkeeper’s condition.

Khune was substituted at the very last moment by Bruce Bvuma, and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

“It is unfortunate that Itu when he was doing the warm-up, he felt some pain on his knee,” Zwane told SuperSport TV.

“He thought maybe after seeing the doctors he would feel much better and the doctor came to me and said ‘if you’re throwing him in, you’re taking a huge risk, because when we test him he’s still struggling, still feeling the pain.’

“We couldn’t take that risk because we need him for other games going forward.”
