Kaizer Chiefs fans may be saying goodbye to an Amakhosi legend who is set to bow out in the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates.
CHIEFS LEGEND SET FOR POSSIBLE FAREWELL MATCH
Erick Mathoho has been voted into the starting lineup by Amakhosi fans, as reported on The South African.
Meaning, he will start for Amakhosi in the second Soweto derby in the Carling Cup on 12 November 2022.
END OF AN ERA FOR MATHOHO
However, this may be the last time we see him run out for Amakhosi and almost certainly his final Soweto derby. Ironically, since he scored the match winner in the previous Soweto derby. He would still play the final if Amakhosi knock out the Bucs in the Carling Cup, then that would be his farewell match.
Mathoho admitted that he is open to leaving the club with a move out of Naturena now imminent
After this, Chiefs and the PSL enter into the international break with the FIFA World Cup set to take centre stage between November 20 and 18 December.
