With Kaizer Chiefs preparing for the new season alot of changes are expected. Kaizer Chiefs is rumoured to be undergoing major changes behind the scenes, it has been revealed to 45min.com that Cavin Johnson won’t continue as the head of youth next season and will be sacked.
Kaizer Chiefs are also said to be on a search for a technical director, the club feels it is time to get outside influence to try and reclaim the old Kaizer Chiefs which was dominant in South African football. Kaizer Junior Motaung who is currently the Sporting Director for the club, is likely to work hand in hand with the technical director they will bring to the club.
While the search for a coach has long been concluded, insiders insist that the new Kaizer Chiefs coach signed a contract in January and that the club has been keeping it a secrete. Though there’s no clear name for who is going to take over,it remains to be seen who will take over when interim coach Cavin Johnson leaves at the end of the season.
Kaizer Chiefs have chamged more than 4 coaches in the past three years, with proven coach Gavin Hunt also having a cjance and sending them to the CAF Champions League semi finals before getting sacked. Gavin Hunt was immediately replaced by a coach who had coached the club before, Stuart Baxter returned with an aim to recreate his first stint at the club. but things did not go as a expected and was sacked with 8 games to go.
Kaizer Chiefs legend Arthur Zwane was then employed on permanent basis, and he was tipped for success given the fact that his DDC/MDC teams was playing beautiful football.
While Zwane’s first few games at Chiefs gave a glimpse of hope, in the second round of the season Arthur Zwane abandoned his principles of winning with beautiful football and started chasing results due to pressure, which saw his team play one of the most horrible football, fans grew tired of the former Kaizer Chiefs coach and started throwing things at the stadium, though Arthur Zwane is the first coach in a while to start and finish a season as Kaizer Chiefs coach in a while.
The Club is hoping to strengthen alot of positions in the technical, our sources revealed that the entire technical team will be disbanded while others might be made scouts for the club.
