Kazier Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has provided an update on the progress of midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe ahead of Chiefs’ clash against Chippa United.
Amakhosi are set to lock horns with Chippa United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday.
Ahead of the crucial fixture, Zwane has given his assessment of the dreadlocked star.
“The guys [midfielders] are gelling well together. Sithebe as well, there’s no doubt at the start of the season he added much needed value,” said Zwane.
The 29-year-old midfielder was signed from AmaZulu on a pre-contractual agreement while approaching the end of his contract with the Durban-based outfit.
Sithebe made his last appearance for AmaZulu is December 2021, and did not play a single match of premiership football until officially joining up with Chiefs for pre-season in July this year.
“Unfortunately there are games where he ran out of steam of which we expected because there was a time where he was not playing regularly, actually, he was not laying football at all.
“So we’re managing him and we believe in him. we know that he will come back strong,” added Zwane.
Sithebe has made 10 appearances for Amakhosi across all competitions this season and is in contention to start for Chiefs bout with the Chilli Boys.
