45min.co.za understands that Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes has shown strong interest in Ashley Du Preez. Given that Chiefs only managed 25 goals in 30 league games last season, they’re not in a position to easily let go of one of their top attackers. But, if a R30 million offer comes through, they might reconsider. Chiefs initially paid R10 million to bring Du Preez from Stellenbosch in July 2022.
Last season, Du Preez struggled with injuries and only made 23 league appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist. Overall, he has 15 goals and seven assists in 59 matches across all competitions for Chiefs.

With major changes in their defense, Given Msimango will be crucial for Amakhosi if they manage to keep him. At 27, Msimango is in his prime as a central defender, known for his aerial strength and excellent communication skills. Standing at 1.89m, he’s a commanding figure on the field. Last season, he made 26 league appearances and played all 30 games in his final season with TS Galaxy, proving his reliability.
European clubs, including Spartak Moscow, have already shown interest in Msimango. Meanwhile, Chiefs have added centre-backs Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel, as well as left-back Bongani Sam, to their squad this transfer window.
