TS Galaxy, a team in the DStv Premiership, has been fined by the PSL (Premier Soccer League) for not providing an electronic substitution board during a home league game. The team has been fined R40 000, with half of the amount suspended on the condition that they don’t commit the same offense during the suspension period. Additionally, the team has been ordered to pay the costs of the DC (disciplinary committee) sittings. This is a penalty for not complying with the league’s rules and regulations regarding match requirements.
“I can confirm that a short while ago TS Galaxy appeared before the PSL DC to answer to charges of failure to provide an electronic substitution board in their home match which they have an obligation to do in accordance with the PSL inscripts,” said the PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu.
In other news, last month, the club made negative headlines when it was reported that some of its players had not been paid salaries for two months. This led to a tense meeting between the players and club management, and a leaked audio recording of the meeting added to the controversy. Currently, the team is ranked 10th on the league table with 30 points after playing 25 matches.
The team’s upcoming fixture will be a DStv Premiership match against Royal AM at home on Saturday, 22 April, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.
