Kaizer Chiefs have effectively secured their second signing of the transfer window ahead of the new season, as top international star Fiacre Ntwari took to Instagram to confirm his move from TS Galaxy. This exciting development comes amidst a flurry of activity for the Soweto giants, who are eager to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign.

Ntwari’s Emotional Farewell

Fiacre Ntwari, the Rwandan international goalkeeper, expressed his gratitude and bid farewell to TS Galaxy in an emotional Instagram post. He thanked the club’s chairman, Tim Sukazi, the coaching staff, including head coach Sead Ramovic and goalkeeper coach Greg Etafia, as well as his teammates and fans.

“As I say goodbye, I want to thank the chairman Tim Sukazi for the opportunity he gave me to play for this beautiful club and the coaching staff, headed by Sead Ramovic and goalkeeper coach Greg Etafia for giving me my first professional debut and to my teammates. You guys welcomed me with both hands, I appreciate your love. To the Rockets fans, I really appreciate the love you showed me, thank you. I wish you all the best TS Galaxy. Always leave the jersey in a better place,” wrote Ntwari on his official account.

This heartfelt message effectively confirms his imminent move to Kaizer Chiefs, where he is expected to bolster the team’s goalkeeping ranks.

Chiefs’ New Goalkeeping Option

After an exhaustive search for a new goalkeeper, it appears Chiefs have found their man in Ntwari. This signing comes at a crucial time for the club, following the departure of veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune. Ntwari’s arrival is anticipated to add significant competition for the starting spot, with existing goalkeepers Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen both having recently signed new deals with the club.

At Chiefs, Ntwari will be looking to establish himself as the number one choice between the posts. The battle for the starting goalkeeper position is set to be a key storyline as the new season approaches, with fans eager to see who will emerge as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Bongani Sam’s Injury Setback

While the arrival of Ntwari brings a wave of optimism, Kaizer Chiefs have also faced some challenges during their preseason preparations. Bongani Sam, who joined from archrival Orlando Pirates via a two-season loan spell at Moroka Swallows, has encountered a serious injury setback. Having not played in the last six months, Sam was looking forward to a fresh start with Chiefs, especially following the departure of veteran left-back Sifiso Hlanti. Unfortunately, the Gqeberha-born star was pictured leaving Turkey due to his injury, casting doubt on his immediate contributions to the team.

Fan Reactions and Expectations

The confirmation of Ntwari’s move has generated significant buzz among Kaizer Chiefs supporters. Many fans are eager to see how the Rwandan international will adapt to his new environment and whether he will be able to secure the starting spot as the team’s primary goalkeeper.

Chiefs fans, how do you feel about the signing of Ntwari? And should he start as the number one goalkeeper for the new season? Feel free to leave your comments below!
