THREE Players That Could Still Join Kaizer Chiefs Before Deadline Day

With the transfer window nearing its close, 45min can confirm that Kaizer Chiefs are still working hard to strengthen their squad.

The Soweto giants have shown interest in several players, some of whom could wear the famous black and gold jersey before the window slams shut. Here are three players who could join Chiefs before the transfer deadline:

1. Oswin Appollis

Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis is one of the hottest names in the market. Chiefs are reportedly interested in securing the talented player’s signature, but they face stiff competition. Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi is also keen on Appollis, and North African clubs like Tunisia’s Esperance and Algeria’s MC Alger are said to be tracking him as well.

A potential twist in the transfer saga could see Appollis join Chiefs’ rivals Orlando Pirates, who are still active in the market. Sundowns, with their deep pockets, could also outbid any local competitors. Chiefs will need to act quickly if they want to secure Appollis.

2. Asanele Velebayi

Asanele Velebayi from Cape Town Spurs is another name linked to Chiefs. Although there has been some resistance from Spurs in allowing the midfielder to leave, the player himself is reportedly eager to join the Sowetan giants.

Chiefs have been negotiating for some time, and while no deal has been finalised yet, there is still hope that Velebayi could be on his way to Naturena before deadline day.

3. Thabang Matuludi

Thabang Matuludi is another player on Kaizer Chiefs’ radar. The versatile defender, who played alongside Chiefs’ recent signing Rushwin Dortley during the 2024 Cosafa Cup, has caught the attention of coach Nasreddine Nabi. Chiefs are keen to add him to their squad, but they are not the only ones interested – Orlando Pirates are also keeping an eye on Matuludi.
