Orlando Pirates midfielder Thalente Mbatha has made a surprising comment about Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Marcelo Allende, calling the Chilean player lazy.
Mbatha’s remarks came after Pirates beat Sundowns 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup final at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Since joining Pirates on loan from SuperSport United in January 2024, Mbatha has been in excellent form. He has played 16 matches across all competitions for Pirates and scored one goal. He has formed a strong partnership in midfield with Makhehlene Makhaula.
Mbatha’s impressive performances have seen him bench players like Thabang Monare, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, and Fortune Makaringe, with the latter recently being released by the club.
