What we cover
45Min Football covers South African football first: the Betway Premiership, the Motsepe Foundation Championship, the Nedbank Cup, Carling Knockout and MTN8, Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana and South Africans playing abroad. We report news, transfers and rumours, match reports, league tables, fixtures and opinion.
Accuracy and sourcing
- Every story names its source: the club, the PSL, SAFA, a press conference, an official statement, or the outlet that reported it first (with a link).
- Transfer rumours are labelled as rumours. We say how reliable the source is and update the story when a deal is confirmed or falls through.
- Quotes are reproduced as spoken. We do not invent quotes, scores or statistics.
- Results, tables and fixtures come from the official league data and are checked against the match centre.
Updates instead of duplicates
When a story develops we update the original article and show the time it was updated, rather than publishing a new copy. Live match coverage runs in a live blog with time-stamped updates.
Headlines
Headlines say what happened and name the team, player and competition. We do not use clickbait or headlines the story does not support.
Independence, advertising and sponsored content
Advertisers and partners have no say over our news coverage. Paid content is always labelled “Paid partnership” or “Sponsored” and is kept out of Google News. Betting-related content carries an 18+ responsible-gambling notice.
Fairness and ethics
We give people and clubs a fair chance to respond to allegations, protect sources who need protecting, avoid discrimination and respect the privacy of players' families and fans. We follow the South African Press Code.
