Who we are

45Min Football is a football news site built around a simple idea: every game is two halves — and the story is rarely finished at the break.

We cover South African football and the leagues our readers love with news you can trust, analysis that explains what actually happened, and opinion worth arguing about. Everything is written for fans reading on their phones — on the taxi, at work, or between halves.

Our name comes from the 45 minutes in every half. The first half sets things up; the second half decides it. We try to tell you both.

How we work

  1. 1
    We check before we publish

Stories are confirmed with sources or official statements. If we can't confirm it, we don't run it as fact.

  2. 2
    We label rumours as rumours

Transfer talk and speculation is marked clearly, with where it came from.

  3. 3
    We correct mistakes openly

If we get something wrong we fix it and say so at the end of the story. Tell us at editor@45min.co.za.

  4. 4
    Advertisers don't write our news

Paid content is always marked and is produced separately from the newsroom.

  5. 5
    Comments stay respectful

Readers comment with a Google, Facebook or email account and follow our community rules.
