Siphesihle Ndlovu is a South African professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Premier Soccer League side Supersport united and the South Africa national team.
An academy graduate of Maritzburg United, he made his professional debut in 2016 and went on to make over 80 appearances for the club.
During the 2017–18 season, he helped the club to record-high fourth-place finish in the league and was rewarded for his form with the Young Player of the Season award. At the end of the following season, he joined Orlando Pirates. He is a fan favorite in Pietermaritzburg and his nickname is Mbesuma.

Club career
Maritzburg United
Having previously served as a ball-boy for the club, Ndlovu transitioned to the youth academy of Maritzburg United from the now defunct Umgungundlovu Academy of Sport in Pietermaritzburg.
He showcased exceptional talent during his tenure in the club’s academy, participating in the SAB League and earning the moniker “Mbesuma,” paying homage to the former PSL top goalscorer, Collins Mbesuma. In 2016, coach Roger De Sa elevated him to the senior side alongside Mlondi Dlamini and Tso Motjatji.
Ndlovu made his debut for the club on 22 October 2016, entering the pitch as a substitute for Denis Weidlich during a penalty shootout loss to Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup.
His league debut followed on 20 December in a 1–1 draw with Bidvest Wits, marking the beginning of 18 appearances across all competitions for the season. Ndlovu flourished under Fadlu Davids during the 2017–18 season, contributing significantly to the club’s historic league finish.
In January 2018, he became the first-ever player from Maritzburg United to clinch the Absa Premiership Player of the Month award. Two months later, he was awarded a new long-term contract with the club, effectively ending speculations about a potential transfer away.
Orlando Pirates
On 12 June 2019, Ndlovu confirmed that he had inked a three-year contract with Orlando Pirates. In his announcement, he clarified to the media that he had not entered into any agreements with Sundowns and cited the compatibility of Pirates’ playing style with his abilities as his motivation for joining the club.
International career
In March 2018, Ndlovu received his maiden call-up to represent the South African national team, handpicked by coach Stuart Baxter for the inaugural Four Nations Invitational Tournament. His initiation occurred on 21 March when he entered the field as a second-half substitute for Maphosa Modiba during a 1–1 (7–6) penalty shootout victory against Angola. Just three days later, he secured his inaugural start as South Africa triumphed over hosts Zambia with a 2–0 scoreline, clinching the championship title.
Later that same year, Ndlovu secured his spot in Baxter’s roster for the 2018 COSAFA Cup. His debut in the competition unfolded in South Africa’s initial match, ending in a penalty shootout defeat to Madagascar. Despite this setback, Ndlovu remained a prominent figure throughout the tournament, contributing significantly as South Africa claimed the Plate title, which equates to a commendable fifth-placed finish.
