In the midst of swirling speculations in Tanzania, various media outlets have been buzzing with reports suggesting that South African forward Ranga Chivaviro might be on the brink of a loan move to Young Africans (Yanga). This speculation has gained traction due to Yanga’s keen interest in securing Chivaviro’s services following his remarkable season at Marumo Gallants.
Chivaviro, riding high on a wave of goal-scoring success during the last season, emerged as a coveted target for several African clubs. His impressive tally of 10 goals in the DStv Premiership and an additional seven in the CAF Confederation Cup turned heads, with Kaizer Chiefs ultimately securing the 30-year-old forward, beating Yanga to the punch.
The Tanzanian giants, currently eyeing reinforcements for their ongoing CAF Champions League campaign, are in search of a potent striker following the departure of Fiston Mayele to Pyramids FC of Egypt, who netted an impressive 54 goals in two seasons. Hafiz Wontah Konkoni from Ghana, Yanga’s recent striking signing, has struggled to make his mark in the team’s attack under the management of former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Gamondi.
Despite the rumors, Chivaviro’s agent, Herve Tra Bi, quashed any talks of an imminent loan move to Yanga. “Ranga is not going anywhere for now. He has a two-year contract with Kaizer Chiefs. We need to respect his contract with Chiefs,” Tra Bi emphasized to FARPost.
FARPost can confirm that there have been no discussions regarding a loan switch between the two clubs. Moreover, it appears unlikely that Amakhosi (Kaizer Chiefs) will entertain any talks regarding their striker before the upcoming January transfer window. As a result, Chivaviro seems poised to continue his stint with the Soweto giants, putting an end to the swirling speculations surrounding his potential move to Young Africans.
