Kaizer Chiefs Look to Bounce Back Against In-Form TS Galaxy
Kaizer Chiefs will be desperate to return to winning ways when they take on TS Galaxy in a Betway Premiership clash on Monday. Nasreddine Nabi’s side is winless in their last two league outings, leaving them in ninth place on the standings with just three victories from eight matches.
The Soweto giants last tasted success in November, defeating Richards Bay 2-1. However, they followed that up with a disappointing 2-2 draw against struggling Royal AM and a 2-0 defeat to Polokwane City. Chiefs now face a tough challenge against a confident TS Galaxy side that has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence under new head coach Adnan Beganovic.
Galaxy, currently third on the table with 18 points, are seven points ahead of their opponents. They have been in fine form, recently defeating Sekhukhune United 3-1 and AmaZulu 1-0, while earning a 1-1 draw against Polokwane City. Rockets forward Sphiwe Mahlangu is optimistic about their chances, saying, “The game against Chiefs gives us a chance to increase our chances of getting into the top eight before this year ends. Chiefs are a big team, but we are ready for the challenge.”
Chiefs will welcome back key defender Reeve Frosler from suspension, which bolsters their backline. However, injuries remain a headache for coach Nabi. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Dillan Solomons are still sidelined, and Bradley Cross is doubtful after sustaining a knock in the recent loss to Polokwane City.
This match represents a crucial opportunity for Chiefs to regain momentum and climb the standings. For Galaxy, a victory would strengthen their position in the top three and further underline their aspirations for a strong season. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM, with fans eagerly anticipating a competitive encounter.
