Head coach Molefi Ntseki is being called for to be sacked, but Kaizer Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa has urged the Amakhosi’s supporters to stand with the team and “trust the process.”
In the DStv Premiership on Sunday at Mbombela Stadium, Chiefs lost to TS Galaxy 1-0, which was a disheartening result.
The Soweto giants have not yet seen league success in the new year. Their first three league games were a draw, two losses, and a loss.
After a goalless draw with Chippa United to start the new season, Kaizer Chiefs lost two straight games to TS Galaxy and Mamelodi Sundowns.
There was a lot of criticism following the loss against Galaxy. Angry Chiefs supporters tossed objects at Molefi Ntseki and other members of the technical crew.
The Chiefs’ technical team has previously been led by the police to the tunnel following Arthur Zwane’s similar attack from the previous season.
Fans have been screaming for Ntseki’s dismissal since the beginning of the season, even though he recently took over as Amakhosi’s coach.
Nonetheless, Vina Maphosa earnestly requests supporters to grant the coach the time needed for a turnaround.
“The coach [Ntseki] is fine, he has taken what happened in Mbombela in his stride. It comes with territory,” Maphosa said on Radio 2000.
In short, during the interview, Maphosa mentioned that the club aims to restore its past successes while emphasizing a stance against stadium violence, prioritizing love and peace. Supporters are urged to have faith in the ongoing process, promising imminent positive changes. The club’s capable management, led by experienced individuals, is dedicated to resolving internal matters. The technical team is diligently working towards improvement.
“We are trying our best to return the club to its former glory days. But at the same time, we can’t promote violence at the stadiums. We are still about Love and Peace.
“So we just asking our fans to trust the process. We will turn the corner soon, happiness will come soon.
“The club is managed well. The people who are in charge have played the game. They know what they are doing.
“There are internal processes that are looking into what’s happening at the club. The technical team is working hard to fix this.”
