Austin Dube, the Kaizer Chiefs defender, has recently declined an offer to join Richards Bay on loan. Despite being behind Zitha Kwinika, Njabulo Ngcobo, Siyabonga Ngezana, in the central defence pecking order, the 29-year-old player expressed his desire to stay at the Naturena-based giants and fight for his place in the team. His commitment to the club is evident as he remains contracted to Chiefs until June 2024.
Dube’s situation has been further impacted by the arrivals of left-sided players Edmilson Dove and the return of Sifiso Hlanti from injury. However, he remains determined to prove himself and contribute to the team’s success. With the current transfer window open Dube’s decision not to pursue a loan move to Richards Bay indicates his long-term commitment to Kaizer Chiefs.
It’s worth noting that Chiefs have the option to extend Dube’s contract for an additional two years, until June 2026. This reflects the club’s confidence in his abilities and potential contributions. As the new season unfolds, Dube will continue to strive for his place in the team, showcasing his dedication and determination to succeed
