Kaizer Chiefs Board Settle On Massive Arthur Zwane Decision After Meeting!

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly decided the fate of their coach Arthur Zwane after a board meeting discussing his position was held last week.

Zwane was appointed Chiefs coach on a three-year contract the beginning of the recently concluded season, but endured a torrid time. 

A lot of the players that were released by Chiefs were over 30-years-old with the majority never winning a trophy while at the club. Besides the Bernard Parker, the likes of Daniel Cardoso, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Leonardo Castro and Daniel Akpeyi had never touched any silverware during their careers at the club. 

After that, Chiefs invested in players who were either younger or in their prime years, like Ashley du Preez, Zitha Kwinika, George Matlou, Dillon Solomons and Yusuf Maart to name but a few. With new acquisition Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, 24, Given Msimango, 26, and Mduduzi Mdantsane, 28, all proving consistent with Zwane’s strategy.  Now if the latest news coming out is anything to go by, he is now likely to be at the club to oversee the second phase of his vision as head coach next season. 

According to The Citizen, the Chiefs board took a decision to keep Zwane in charge of the club, but already seems to be on a last strike. 

ZWANE TO GET SECOND CHANCE AT CHIEFS?

“The meeting sat on Tuesday and after extensive talks, he emerged as the coach and still enjoys the full support of the management. He is safe, He understands the job very well. He knows he needs to end the trophy drought and get the team playing attractive football. And he is hopeful that when he has his new signings and gets a few strikers, he will be alright.” Said a source to the same publication
If that information proves to be true, it could turn out to be a huge reprieve and big sign of confidence in their club legend from the Chiefs board. Zwane, however, will be hoping they can show the same faith in terms of transfer budget as he will definitely need a few quality new faces if he is to turn his fortunes around at the club.
