A former Kaizer Chiefs development player has found a new home after joining ABC Motsepe League side Wits University FC.
The defender has been without a club after he parted ways with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in 2022.
His aspirations of playing football at the pinnacle of the beautiful game have been repeatedly derailed by injury setbacks, particularly ankle injuries.
Wandy Khwinana confirmed to 45min Football that he is back to doing one thing he loves the most; which is playing football with Wits University.
Since joining the club, the 24-year-old has established himself in the starting line-up. In two matches he has played in, he has been a starter. The Clever Boys edged Jomo Cosmos 1-0 before they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Highlands Park FC.
“After leaving Kaizer Chiefs I signed for TTM, but a new coach was appointed afterward. I left as I wasn’t part of his plans,” Khwinana told 45min football.

“At that time Wits was interested in me, but the transfer window had already closed. I went back to the township and kept training there to keep my fitness levels good.
“When I arrived at the club, I received a warm welcome from the chairman, the coaches, and the players. It’s a good environment to play football here.
“Now I’m a Wits player, my contract expires at the end of the season. I also got a one-year option to extend my stay.”
