Mpumalanga-based National First Division (NFD) club, Casric Stars, has announced the signing of experienced striker, Kermit ‘Romeo’ Erasmus. The 34-year-old former Orlando Pirates frontman has been without a club since July 2024 and will don the number 10 jersey for his new team.
Erasmus, who has been eager to get back on the pitch, expressed his desire to simply “play football” after unsuccessful attempts to sign with SuperSport, Cape Town City, Cape Town Spurs, and Chippa United.
The acquisition of Erasmus is a significant boost for Casric Stars, who currently occupy sixth place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship log. The experienced striker’s addition to the squad is expected to provide a much-needed injection of firepower as the team pushes to climb the standings.
With Erasmus now on board, Casric Stars will be looking to capitalize on his expertise and make a strong push for promotion in the second half of the season.
