Emerging reports to 45min football reveal that Keagan Dolly, the acclaimed Kaizer Chiefs superstar, is grappling with yet another injury setback. The situation has sparked concerns that he may tread a path similar to Khama Billiat’s unfortunate trajectory. Billiat, a key player for Chiefs, endured a tumultuous last season marred by injuries, resulting in a goalless 2022/23 campaign—marking the first time in 13 years that he failed to find the net throughout a season in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Compounding matters, with his contract set to expire at the end of June, Billiat was unable to reach an agreement on a new deal, adding uncertainty to his future with the club.
Keagan Dolly, much like Billiat, stands as one of the top earners at Chiefs, navigating the final year of his contract amid ongoing struggles with injuries. The 30-year-old has participated in a mere five games this season, missing out on 12. Strikingly, he is yet to notch a goal, experiencing his lengthiest goal drought of the season. Keagan Dolly’s last goal dates back to April 1 against Stellenbosch, and subsequent to that match, he has endured eight games without finding the back of the net.
Drawing parallels with Billiat’s unprecedented goalless spell, Dolly faces the challenge of adapting to a season without contributing to the scoreline, a rarity in his tenure with DStv Premiership clubs.

Despite consistently making the matchday squad when available for selection, Dolly’s diminishing impact at Chiefs is gradually eroding his standing for a coveted spot in the national team. Hugo Broos, the Bafana Bafana coach, last included Dolly in his squad 20 months ago, highlighting the severity of his dwindling fortunes.
As the injury concerns persist and Dolly’s goal drought prolongs, fans and football enthusiasts alike anxiously await updates on the star player’s condition, hoping for a swift recovery and a resurgence in form.
