Babina Noko has been on a remarkable signing spree this transfer window as they prepare for what looks to be their busiest season since promotion to the top flight.
Following a successful season in 2022/23, in which they reached the Nedbank Cup final and qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup, the Limpopo-based club is now set to compete in a number of prestigious competitions. Sekhukhune will compete in the MTN8, Nedbank Cup, Carling Black Label Knockout, and CAF Confederations Cup in addition to the DStv Premiership.
Brandon Truter’s charges have secured an agreement to sign the highly sought-after midfielder, Siphesihle Mkhize, in their pursuit of excellence across all competitions.
Mkhize was previously on the radar of both Chippa United and Cape Town Spurs before joining Sekhukhune on a permanent basis.
Mkhize has established himself as a regular starter after spending the last two seasons on loan with Chippa United. Given his background as a product of the club’s renowned development structures, his decision to leave Mamelodi Sundowns was a difficult one.
However, following lengthy discussions with the club about Mkhize’s future, an agreement was reached to find a club where he could settle and receive regular playing time.
Consideration of the club’s ambitions was an important factor in selecting the ideal club for Mkhize. The prospect of competing in the CAF Confederations Cup piqued the midfielder’s interest, as playing at such a high level aligns with his goals, especially with the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) looming.
Mkhize dreams of representing Bafana Bafana, and the opportunity to showcase his skills in a prestigious continental competition will undoubtedly bolster his chances.
Mkhize’s agent, Ntobatsi Masegela, expressed his satisfaction with the move and acknowledged that it was vital to find the right environment for his client’s growth and development as a player.
