Hossam Hassan has expressed a strong desire to rejoin the Reds for the upcoming season. The talented striker opened up about his emotional struggles while under Pitso Mosimane’s management, shedding light on his determination to make a triumphant return to the club that holds a special place in his heart.
Hossam Hassan spent last season on loan at Smouha after struggling to find regular game time under both Pitso Mosimane and Marcel Koller. Despite the fact that Smouha’s president, Farag Amer, recently revealed the player’s impending permanent move to the club, Hassan remains optimistic about the possibility of once again donning the iconic Al Ahly jersey.
“Playing for Al Ahly has been a tremendous honour for me,” Hossam Hassan said of his time at the club. It had been a lifelong ambition of mine to represent Al Ahly or Zamalek, and I was overjoyed when I was asked to join Al Ahly. I had ambitious goals for the club that I wanted to achieve, but things didn’t go as planned.”
The Egyptian striker bravely addressed the emotional toll he felt under Pitso Mosimane’s management, stating, “I felt psychologically affected by the situation.” I was brought on in the final minute of some matches, and I even entered the Pharco match in the final second. For me, it was a heartbreaking experience.”
“I remember Mosimane mentioning in press conferences that the team lacked a striker, yet I found myself excluded from the squad,” Hassan added. I am confident in my abilities, and I knew that my level was far superior to what I was given the opportunity to demonstrate.”
Hossam Hassan decided to go out on loan in search of regular playing time and an opportunity to shine, stating, “I made the decision to leave temporarily in order to play regularly and demonstrate my true potential.” I don’t want to be reduced to the status of a mere employee.”
Following his temporary departure, the talented forward praised new coach Marcel Koller, saying, “Koller is an exceptional coach who laid the right foundation for the team.” Throughout the season, his personality had a positive impact on the team.”
“Next season, I want to prove to the fans that I am a distinguished player,” Hossam Hassan said of his desire to return to Al Ahly. I still want to wear the Al Ahly jersey and prove my worth. However, no one has approached me about this matter as of yet.”
With passion and determination, Hassan concluded, “I firmly believe that I can become the league’s top goalscorer next season with Al Ahly. It’s a challenge I am eager to take on and achieve for the team and its supporters.
