Mogaila accident? A nine-year-old girl tragically lost her life in a car accident on Andrew Mapheto Road in Tembisa, with drugs and alcohol allegedly found in the vehicle suspected to belong to a soccer star who fled the scene.
Ekurhuleni metro police spokesperson Thabiso Makgato reported that the accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The nine-year-old and her 13-year-old neighbor were being driven to school by the young girl’s mother when their Hyundai Grand i10 collided with the man’s BMW. The collision left the nine-year-old dead at the scene, while the mother and the older child were rushed to Tembisa Hospital with serious injuries.

Makgato stated that the BMW driver, reportedly a 29-year-old soccer player, fled the scene after the crash. Upon arrival, police discovered four bottles of high-proof alcohol, labeled Don Julio, as well as powdery substances suspected to be cocaine and cannabis edibles.
A case has been opened for culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving, and fleeing the scene. “The driver’s identity will be confirmed once the investigation, including the verification of the driver’s license, is complete,” Makgato added.
