A former TS Galaxy defender is expected to make his next move, and Samkelo Mtshaka has learned that one of his options could be to sign with Kaizer Chiefs.
Having made 13 appearances last season, a season that was complicated by injury, Seedat has been without a team since he formally parted ways with Galaxy at the end of June.
The Cape Town native is regarded as one of the league’s best left-backs, and he was one of the first names on Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic’s starting lineups before suffering a knee injury in training.
Ebrahim Seedat is one of the most experienced players for his position in Mzansi, having previously played for KSC Lokeren in Belgium and Degerfors IF in Sweden, among other clubs.
With the 30-year-old weighing his options, sources say a move to Chiefs, where he would reunite with Given Msimango, whom he had played with in Galaxy’s defense for three years, is on the table.
“Ebrahim Seedat is assessing his options and there’s talk of him possibly moving to Chiefs. It’s still the early stages but it’s something that has been spoken about,”
said the source. Seedat was one of the spectators at Athlone Stadium on Sunday when his former club Cape Town City played against Chiefs in the MTN8 quarter-finals which ended 2-1 in favour of the Soweto giants.
