UKHOZI FM presenter Irvin “DJ Amen” Sihlophe, known for hosting and producing sports shows on the KZN-based station, has passed away.

Amen suffered a stroke and was admitted to the hospital on Friday, 3 November. Although his phone was unreachable when Daily Sun attempted to contact him, a close friend disclosed that he had been in critical condition upon admission, but unfortunately, he did not survive.
“At the time of his hospitalization, his condition was critical. Despite efforts to keep this information under wraps, he succumbed to the effects of the stroke,” the friend said.
Another close friend of DJ Amen, Mjostana “Pastor Mjosty” Mbhele, shared the sad news with Daily Sun, urging people not to panic as he assured that Amen had been recovering well before his untimely passing.
“Although his condition was critical when he was admitted to the hospital, he was showing signs of recovery compared to the initial stage. He could communicate because his speech was not affected,” he stated.
Doctors had been addressing his high blood pressure and diabetes, while physiotherapists worked on his affected arm and leg. Despite the efforts to manage his health. DJ Amen unfortunately passed away, adding another somber chapter to the recent challenges faced by the entertainment industry.

“It is quite shocking because we were still reeling from L’vovo’s stroke last year. Now we are confronted with the untimely passing of Irvin,”. Mjosty expressed.
