Bafana Bafana’s coach, Hugo Broos, explains Lyle Foster’s growth at club and national levels. Foster moved to Burnley last season, earning a Premier League spot. Despite Burnley’s struggles, the 23-year-old shines, contributing to five goals. Foster also nets four goals in his last six national team games.

Hugo Broos Highlights How Joining the Premier League Boosted Lyle Foster’s Performance.
The Belgian coach emphasizes that Foster’s game has undergone significant enhancement due to the Premier League’s high standards.
“When you play against good opponents and strong opponents you become better. Foster became a better player since moving to Burnley FC,” said Broos.
“He becomes a better player because every day he’s playing with players who are better. And he’s playing games against teams who are better.
“So, this is very important that you have players abroad without forgetting those who are here, but it gives you something extra.”
Foster is set to play in upcoming international friendlies for Bafana Bafana against Eswatini and Ivory Coast on October 13 and October 17, respectively.
These matches serve as preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November and next year’s Afcon finals in Ivory Coast.
