There have not been many South African footballers in the top division over the past 10 seasons who have consistently displayed elite skill like Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Themba Zwane.
Mshishi is regarded as one of the best players to have ever competed in the nation due to his consistency at the highest level.
However, the seasoned Sundowns player appears to improve with age as recent performances have drawn clubs from outside.
THEMBA ZWANE HEADING TO EUROPE?
The Brazilians have been practicing in the Netherlands for the upcoming 2023–2024 season.
Zwane wowed European teams’ scouts, according to a source close to the team, and they are considering making a bid for him.
“Sundowns had a very productive trip to Europe that saw them go unbeaten the whole tour,” the source said.
“European scouts were impressed with how the club is performing, and they liked (Themba) Zwane more.
“Scouts from England, Spain, and even Belgium are in awe because of his technical abilities.
“Sundowns is expected to receive offers soon.”
But it is unlikely that Sundowns will let the 33-year-old go even if the offer is enticing.
He is the center of the team, and the player’s age may play a role in his decision to relocate to Europe.
Zwane might wish to travel and test himself in Europe before calling it a day given the club’s fast expanding young talent.
