Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Molefi Ntseki is once again presented with an opportunity to don the hero’s mantle and rescue Kaizer Chiefs from their persistent trophy drought.
This chance arises with the commencement of the Carling Black Label Knockout tournament.
In the previous tournament, the MTN8, Kaizer Chiefs advanced to the semi-finals but were stopped in their tracks by Sundowns, leaving their fans in dismay.
Adding to their misery, their traditional rivals, Orlando Pirates, went on to seize the coveted trophy.
Nevertheless, with the inauguration of this new cup, Ntseki gets a second chance to be the one who reverses the downward trend at Amakhosi.”

Molefi Ntseki expressed his appreciation for the addition of a new cup in the PSL and extended his optimism regarding Kaizer Chiefs’ performance in these cup matches. This sentiment was shared after the draw on Tuesday afternoon.
In the draw, Chiefs were matched against AmaZulu FC, a team they had already triumphed over earlier in the season during a league encounter.
Ntseki acknowledged AmaZulu as a formidable team, recalling their previous clash at FNB Stadium. He noted that AmaZulu had made some intriguing acquisitions since their last meeting and had been active in subsequent matches.
“When they faced us,” Ntseki reminisced, “they were unbeaten and had not conceded any goals. However, on that particular day, we executed well, scored goals, and emerged victorious.”
Furthermore, Ntseki observed AmaZulu’s progress in subsequent games, citing their match against Polokwane as an example. He emphasized the importance of the team’s improved performance and their better grasp of their coach’s tactical instructions moving forward.
Ntseki notes improvement within the Chiefs.
However, Ntseki will understandably prioritize his own team, as he believes they are also making significant progress.
“As Kaizer Chiefs, we are looking to strike the balance between performance and results.
“We have been playing well, except for winning. We are looking forward to this game in terms of creating balance and playing to win in games.
“Because it is a cup game, you have to play to win. We are doing our own analysis and improving as a team.
“And we are very positive that the understanding in our team is getting better.
“The missing part in our game is that of not scoring goals. It is a tactical element that we are working on every time at training.”
