Kaizer Chiefs are known for nurturing home-grown talent, and one of their rising stars, Aden McCarthy, is making headlines as he heads to Europe for a trial.
Aden McCarthy, the son of Amakhosi legend Fabian McCarthy, has reportedly travelled to Moldova for a trial. After impressing in the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side, he graduated to the first team last season. Although he hasn’t yet made his senior debut, the 20-year-old defender was an unused substitute on four occasions under coach Cavin Johnson.
Following in the footsteps of former Chiefs players like Siyabonga Ngezana and Njabulo Blom, McCarthy has the opportunity to showcase his skills abroad. The exact club in Moldova is yet to be disclosed, but stay tuned for updates on this exciting development!

McCarthy, a left-sided central defender who can also play at left-back, has already jetted off for his trial. He made his mark in the Diski Challenge, playing alongside talents like Mduduzi Shabalala, Samkelo Zwane, and Mfundo Vilakazi. While his teammates have already had chances in the first team, McCarthy is now eager to make his breakthrough.
