Julian Nagelsmann is one step away from becoming the new Paris Saint-Germain coach. The German met with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and could be officially presented in the next few days, although he will arrive without Thierry Henry as assistant.
Paris Saint-Germain have made the decision to sack Christophe Galtier ahead of next season and in the coming hours could be set to bring in German coach Julian Nagelsmann.
The Parisian club’s sporting director, the Portuguese Luis Campos, had a meeting in the last few days with the coach to inform him of the club’s decision, reports ‘Le Parisien’.
Galtier, who arrived last summer from Nice, has only been on the PSG bench for one of the two years he signed with the French capital club.
Despite winning the league title, the Parisians failed to win the French Cup and, above all, were knocked out in the last 16 of the Champions League by Bayern Munich, then coached by Nagelsmann.
Indeed, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had a meeting with the German coach to finalise the deal and announce his contract for next season.
In France, it is reported that Nagelsmann will take the reins at PSG in the next few days, but he will not be accompanied by Thierry Henry, as was speculated a few days ago. The next few hours will be crucial in defining this situation.
