According to reports, Marcus Rashford will be available for the Manchester derby.
The forward hasn’t played since limping off during Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal in early September, citing an injury as the reason for his absence from the England squad.
However, according to The Sun, he is winning the race to be fit for his team’s crucial match against Manchester City on Sunday.
Rashford has missed two Europa League games due to a hamstring injury.
He sustained the injury after scoring two goals against Arsenal at Old Trafford, where he is attempting to regain form under Erik ten Hag.
After being left out of the England squad for Nations League games against Italy and Germany on September 15, he tweeted: ‘In regards to England, every player wants to represent their country, and I’m no different!’ Unfortunately, I am not yet ready due to an untimely injury.’
If Rashford had been fit, it’s unclear whether he would have been named to the squad.
After a string of impressive performances, he has been nominated for the Premier League’s September Player of the Month award.
The 24-year-old has been playing more centrally in recent times, keeping Cristiano Ronaldo out of United’s starting lineup and regaining form after years spent out wide.
He has returned to training in preparation for the derby and is expected to play at the Etihad.
