Liverpool are reportedly interested in Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, but a deal is unlikely because the right-back wants to stay at the Etihad.
According to the Daily Mail, the England star has begun contract negotiations with the Premier League champions, despite strong interest from Bayern Munich.
Thomas Tuchel is said to be a fan of the 33-year-old and is attempting to bring him to the Bundesliga; if the Manchester City star decides to leave, the German champions appear to be the most likely destination for the time being.
According to the report, Liverpool is also interested. However, such a deal between Premier League rivals would be difficult to imagine. However, this could be a big clue as to how Jurgen Klopp will set up his team next season.
Walker’s future at Manchester City is unknown.
If Liverpool is looking for top-tier right-backs, it could mean Trent Alexander-Arnold will be used as a midfielder next season, following his outstanding performances in the role in the season’s final matches.
The Reds are unlikely to sign Walker, but if they can sign another right-back this summer, Alexander-Arnold could become a full-time midfielder for the upcoming season.
