Kaizer Chiefs icon Itumeleng Khune is rumored to be parting ways with the club after over two decades of service.
Before the start of the current season, Chiefs management offered Khune a final playing contract, with the intention of transitioning him into a role within the technical team once the season concluded. However, reports suggest that the 37-year-old goalkeeper is determined to continue playing beyond this season, which may lead to his departure from the club.
According to The South African, Khune’s relationship with the club soured earlier this season after he was suspended and relieved of his captaincy for arriving at training under the influence. Since then, he has not featured in any matches or even made the matchday squad.

With Chiefs extending the contracts of goalkeepers Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen and also looking to sign a new goalkeeper, Khune’s future at the club appears uncertain if he intends to prolong his playing career into his 40s.
