Reeve Frosler facing an uncertain future as interest for his services grow

While at the start of the season Reeve Frosler revealed that he rejected an offer from Siyabonga Ngezana’s current team FCSB, it seems like the interest is still there and Kaizer Chiefs is hoping to cash in on him.

Kaizer Chiefs wing-back Reeve Frosler has confirmed he rejected an offer from FCSB to remain at the club for the upcoming season.

Frosler, 25, has long been considered one of the finest prospects in the country but has seen his rapid career progression stall slightly due to injury troubles in the past.

Before joining Chiefs he was attracting interest in Portugal before Amakhosi pulled off a major coup to and him from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits.

But in the off-season after signing Siyabonga Ngezana in a deal worth around R12-million, the Romanian giants turned their attention to the South Africa international too.

“I think between all parties, we agreed that I rather focus on where I am right now and continue working at Kaizer Chiefs,” he said when asked about the offer by iDiski Times before opening up on the 2023/24 season that awaits this weekend.

“It’s a new season, a new chapter for us, we just have to stay focused, stay positive and for me personally try and keep myself injury free.

“In the past it’s not been the best for me with injuries, picking up freakish injuries if you can call it that, [my] jaw breaking, yeah it’s just injuries that don’t normally occur but just to keep fit and ready to play throughout this season.”

With Frosler likely to play a key role this season, he’s got a new defensive pairing to build a relationship with Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Given Msimango – and he hinted there are some promising signs already.

“We’ve obviously got some new guys in and have to work on understanding each other, it’s important and then obviously how to work with new teammates, reading body language and not necessarily his voice at all times,” Frosler said.

“So yeah it’s work in progress, we have some work to do, but hopefully we can work well together and bring out the best in each other.”

Frosler has racked up 112 appearances for the Soweto giants over the past three seasons since his arrival from the Students.

According to recent news from the club, Kaizer Chiefs is willing to let Reeve Frosler go if they meet his R17Million valuation they placed him on. Reeve Frosler has not been getting game time of late which might also be a factor in him leaving for a lesser fee, but sources close to the player reveal that the player is ready for the next step in his career.
